Marc Rubenstein is a physical therapist who is passionate about moving upstream to improve health equity as he educates his community about ways to improve the trajectory of local health.

He is the owner of Jersey Physical Therapy, a mentor through Navigate Your Pain, and an active member in the Academy of Prevention and Health Promotion Therapies.

Marc is passionate about health and prevention in physical therapy while promoting primary prevention in care. He noticed in private practice PT, many patients were seen for secondary prevention. He believes PT needs to be in the triage space to provide the highest and best care for patients.

Upstream is determined by our zipcode. Investments in health and communities is necessary in order to be at the forefront of primary prevention and promoting health and wellness.

He describes the 5 ways to improve over-medicalization:

  1. Social Connection
  2. Resilience
  3. Fuel and Nutrition
  4. Recovery
  5. Movement

Fact: 70% of chronic diseases can be prevented through lifestyle changes.
